Pool Remodeling

Southern California Pools remodeling services include: spa additions, waterfalls, re-working the shape and size of existing pools and spas, stamped concrete, natural stone decks, pavers, coping, tiling, plastering, pebble-finish, pebble-sheen, pool plumbing and electrical, remote control systems, saltwater systems, complete pool and spa equipment installations, deck-o-seal, tile blasting, custom water features, acid washing and more.

Whenever we re-plaster a swimming pool, we completely strip the old plaster down to the gunite to achieve the best mechanical bond possible between the pool shell and the new surface. Etching, chipping or sandblasting the old surface are less expensive ways to prepare your pool for re-plastering, but these methods are usually associated with bonding and delamination problems. That is why Southern California Pools strips the old plaster completely down to the gunite, obtaining a clean, rough surface ready for a new plaster. This process extends the lifetime of the new surface.

Once the remodeling work has been completed, including the coping, tiling, and re-surfacing of the pool, it is time to fill up the pool and proceed with the new plaster start up. We offer our own method to cure the new plaster. The start up or break-in is a required part of the project. It is needed to remove all the plaster dust or calcium carbonate left over. If the calcium carbonate is not removed in time, it will bond to the new surface building up as hard, rough scale. The curing process achieves two goals: removing the plaster dust and balancing the water chemistry. It is very important that you select a pool company that offers the start-up surface as a part of the remodeling job. It is important to know that one contractor is responsible for all phases of the remodeling project.

We also specialize in commercial pool and spa remodeling. We have helped hundreds of homeowners associations, apartment buildings, hotels and schools in Los Angeles and Ventura counties to comply with the Virginia Graeme Baker Federal Act. We know the law, and we make sure your commercial pool and spa complies with federal, state and county laws.
